About Us

In the first century, Solomon's Porch was the exterior portion of the Jewish Temple where Jesus and the Apostles taught from. This portion of the Temple was unique as it was accessible to anyone, Jew or Gentile, male or female. When Jesus turned the tables of the money-changers and those selling goods for profit, He was on Solomon's Porch. He declared, "Is it not written, My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations?" (Mark 11:17). The porch was a gathering place where people would debate and teach, where people were challenged and Christianity was established.

Solomon's Porch is a group of people who believe that one of God's greatest methods for teaching us what it means to live and love like Jesus is community. We desire to be a diverse community made up of people from all nations as described in Revelation 7:9, united through the love of Christ which transforms us to be more like Him. We seek to make a difference in our community by living out the teachings and example of Jesus Christ in our daily lives.

Dan & Sarah Lyle

God placed a dream of church planting in the hearts and minds of Dan and Sarah many years ago. They are excited to see God beginning to pull all of the pieces of their many years of ministry together as they step into His calling for Solomon's Porch. They believe that life-on-life discipleship is the core of how God multiplies His church and desire to help people learn what it means to participate in the work of the Kingdom of God.

Dan and Sarah met in Denver, Colorado and have been married for 19 years. They moved to the Tampa area in 2007 where they have served in their local church in many different capacities. Most recently, Dan served as the Pastor of Discipleship at First Baptist Church of Lutz. Sarah has a passion for mentoring women and helping them discover their true identity in Christ. Dan and Sarah have two children - Parker, 11, and Cody, 6, who keep them on their toes and make full-time ministry even more of an adventure.
